Participation and privacy
How your response will be used
Your response forms part of a participatory artwork. Original submissions are kept by the artist for one week and then deleted.
Who receives your response
Responses are received and read by the artist, Sarah-Jane Crowson. They are processed through Formspree, a third-party form provider that describes its service as GDPR compliant.
Why responses are collected
Responses form part of these participatory artworks and are not being collected as formal academic research. If you give permission on the form, non-identifying excerpts may inform the artist’s reflective practice or be retained and quoted in the artwork, exhibition materials or documentation of the work.
Identifying information
Please do not include identifying information in a response. The Botanica form offers the option of giving a name or initial; this is not required. Any excerpt will be used without that name or initial unless you agree otherwise.
How long responses are kept
Original submissions are kept by the artist for one week and then deleted from the artist’s Formspree account and email records. A non-identifying excerpt selected for the artwork or its documentation may be retained after the original submission has been deleted.
Asking for earlier deletion
You can ask for your original response to be deleted before the end of the week by emailing sarahjanecrowson@gmail.com. Please quote enough of the response, or its approximate submission time, for the artist to identify it.
Anonymous site analytics
This website uses GoatCounter to count visits to its public content pages. I use these aggregate page-path counts to understand which strands of the practice are being read. I do not use them to identify or profile individual visitors, and individual pageview collection is not enabled.
GoatCounter does not place analytics cookies or persistent tracking identifiers in your browser, and does not store IP addresses or full user-agent information. It briefly uses an IP address and browser information in memory to distinguish visits, then stores the resulting counts in aggregate. GoatCounter is operated in Ireland and its data is hosted in Finland and Germany.
Change your anonymous analytics preference on this browser. GoatCounter will ask you to confirm whether counting should be disabled or enabled.
Services used by this website
Formspree processes form submissions and may process associated technical information, including an IP address and browser information, under its privacy policy. Formspree’s services are hosted in the United States and it says it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers made as a data processor.
This website is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub states that it logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. Further information is available in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
